ADASS Eastern Region- Support for Work Age Adults

What we did:

On 16th April 2026 Alder Advice presented the findings and conclusions from its research for East England ADASS, into how to best meet the needs of adults aged 18-64 with complex needs cost effectively, to the Region’s recently formed Markets and Commissioning Network and facilitated a discussion by network members of next steps.

The presentation was based on evidence from:

  • Engagement with practitioners, commissioners, and providers
  • A comparative analysis of available local data on care and support for 18-64 year olds.
  • A deep dive into data about the 25 most expensive packages of support fully or part funded by each local authority

The research presented:

  • Provided a robust evidence based regional baseline of common issues, cost drivers, and quality challenges
  • Identified a range of existing measures already in place that are helping to address the issues, drivers, and challenges
  • Stimulated a full debate about possible responses by individual authorities and by groups of authorities collaborating on a Regional or Sub-Regional footprint.
